Globalization

Entered in the 21st Century, YOKOHAMA established regional headquarters in Asia, Europe, and South America, and then focused on overseas deployment such as establishment of plants in China and Thailand, and the overseas’ first test course in Thailand.

YOKOHAMA also has strived on development of environment-friendly products from raw materials, from tires that achieve high fuel efficiency to achieve “Top-level environmentally contributing company,” to the hose that does not rely on petroleum resources and does not generate harmful gas when burning tires.


GEOLANDAR H/T G038 was adopted as the standards tire for Mercedes Benz G class vehicle.

Yokohama Rubber (China) Co., Ltd. was established as headquarters for operations in China
2006 Yokohama Rubber started to supply tires to FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC)
Grand Design 100 (GD100) new management plan announced
Yokohama India Private Limited, a subsidiary in India, established
2007 Proceeds from charity music event "LIVE ecoMOTION" donated to WWF Japan
"YOKOHAMA Forever Forest" (a project to plant trees at all Yokohama plants around the world) kicked off with a tree-planting ceremony at Hiratsuka factory
